Apurva Pawashe, America Walks’ 2011 Policy Intern, is a senior at the University of Oregon, studying Planning, Public Policy and Management. Apurva is particularly interested in America Walks’ goal for advancing community-based campaigns that restore walkability for aging adults, people with disability, and low-income populations. Her interest and coursework focus in sustainable transportation policy is complemented by her experience as an intern with ELAW (Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide). ELAW is a non-profit organization headquartered in Eugene that gives public interest lawyers and scientists the training and legal resources they need to help communities protect the environment.
