America Walks Attends Creating an Active America Together Congressional Briefing

America Walks was honored to attend the Creating an Active America Together Congressional Briefing hosted by the National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity on May 10th. The briefing was held in honor of May’s National Physical Fitness and Sports Month and brought attention to the need for policies, programs, and funding to support physical activity and wellness in communities across the US. Attendees heard from a panel of speakers including Dr. Ruth Petersen, Director, Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Captain Daniel B. Bornstein, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Health, Exercise, and Sport Science, The Citadel, and Tom McMillen, Board Treasurer, National Fitness Foundation.
