Gil Penalosa, MBA is a global thinker and marketing strategist in fields related to parks, recreation, urban planning, place-making and active transportation. He has over 22 years of senior managerial public and private sector experience in Canada and Latin America.  He currently works as Executive Director of<A HREF=”http://www.8-80cities.org/” target=”_blank”> 8-80 Cities</A> (formerly Walk & Bike for Life). The organization changed names in 2009, as it felt a good rule of thumb for creating cities is to make sure everything is as fantastic for the 8 year old as it is for the 80 year old.
