November 28, 2016- America Walks Welcomes Two New Board Members
America Walks is excited to announce the appointment of two new board members, Lawrence D. Frank and Alex Moore. They will work with our Board of Directors to provide continued support and strategic advice on our efforts to make sure that every community has safe, enjoyable and accessible places to walk and be physically active.

November 22, 2016- America Walks Hosts Informational Webinar on 2017 National Walking Summit
America Walks and the planning committee for the 2017 National Walking Summit are excited to share some of our latest information about the upcoming Summit including details on how you can participate at the conference in St. Paul, MN September 13-15, 2017.

November 17, 2016- America Walks Explores Walking at Work with New Webinar
On our November 17th webinar, America Walks and panelists from Kaiser Permanente, ACE Fitness and Netwalking, LLC discussed ways people can increase their physical activity by getting more steps at work. Speakers explored the benefits of walking at work and ways to get started with walking meeting today! Learn more and watch the recording here. 

November 17, 2016- Walking Picks Up Speed
America Walks is excited to be able to share with everyone a new article by Jay Walljasper. One year after Surgeon General champions health benefits, walking is being recognized as an economic driver and everyone’s basic right. Read the full article here.

November 16, 2016- America Walks Supports Complete Streets Conference
On November 15, 2016 in Sacramento, CA, America Walks supported the first-ever National Complete Streets Conference “Street Lights.” This day-long conference was a chance to share ideas, brainstorm solutions, and celebrate the success of the Complete Streets movement nationwide together. The focus was on “Illuminating Implementation and Equity in Complete Street” and featured presenters including America Walks Board Member Charles Brown. November 15, 2016- America Walks Statement on 2016 Election
At America Walks, we work at the local, state and federal level to achieve our goal of creating safe, accessible and enjoyable walkable spaces for every community member. The 2016 election provided America Walks with opportunities to engage with new partners on the issues related to walking and walkability, inform advocates from across the country on work being done in their communities, and to plan for a future where every individual has the right to walk.
