March 31- Learn More about the 2016 Walking College Program
America Walks hosted those interested in becoming a 2016 Walking College Fellow in an Orientation Webinar on May 31. The webinar covered information on the program as well as highlighted the experiences of three fellows from 2015. You can watch a recording of the webinar here. 

March 25, 2016- America Walks Hosts ioby for Webinar on Crowdfunding
America Walks was excited to offer a webinar with ioby on ways crowdfunding can be used for projects related to promoting walkable communities. The webinar included real-life case studies of successfully-funded walking advocacy projects, crowdfunding myth busting, and best practices for campaign planning, donor prospecting, social media use, and more. Watch a recording of the webinar here. 

March 24, 2016- New Article from Jay Walljasper Explores Oklahoma City’s Transformation
Walking’s popularity now reaches beyond older city neighborhoods into suburbs and the Sun Belt. Oklahoma City—which was named as the “worst US walking city” in a 2008 study of 500 communities by Prevention magazine and the American Podiatric Medical Association—is embarking on big plans to become more walkable. Read more about the city’s transformation in our latest article from Jay Walljasper.

America Walks is excited to announce that applications for the 2016 Walking College are open! The Walking College is an interactive, online educational program for walkable community advocates. Apply by April 15th! 

March 14, 2016- America Walks is Hiring a New Executive Director
America Walks is seeking a dynamic Executive Director who is committed to making America a great place to walk and to guide America Walks to its next stage of development. March 9, 2016- America Walks Hosts Jeff Speck for Twitter Chat
America Walks hosted Jeff Speck on March 7,  2016 for a Twitter Chat.
