Week Without Driving is Rocking

It’s Wednesday of the Week Without Driving, and with over 450 participating organizations, the engagement has tripled! We are excited that nearly 500 elected officials and decision makers are participating, along with thousands of individuals signed up. Here are some of the highlights we’ve seen so far.

Articles:

Recognizing Nondrivers Can Spur a Revolution on the Urbanist Blog. A great reflection on why people find it hard to believe there are so many nondrivers – and how to start thinking about the nondrivers in all our lives. Including the drivers who see cars as freedom, but will age out of driving!

Don’t Forget About Non-Drivers in Rural America:  “Too often, advocates for reducing car-dependency focus solely on dense urban areas. But in doing so, they write off too much of our country and discount the reality of too many non-drivers.”

Parents Struggle To Observe the #WeekWithoutDriving: Ok, this one is a year old, but the struggle is real – a reflection on parenting and driving from our friends at StrongTowns
