July 26, 2017- America Walks Statement on the NTSB Report
America Walks commends the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) on its leadership to explore a topic that is of critical importance—keeping all roadway users safe by reducing speeds. Pedestrians account for the largest proportion of traffic fatalities and research has continuously shown that reducing speeds dramatically increases safety for all. Read more here.

July 25, 2017- America Walks Speaks at Main Street America Event
Ian Thomas spoke today at a national convening titled “The Convergence of Health, Place, and the Economy: Creating an Action Agenda for Rural Main Streets” hosted by the Project for Public Spaces and Main Street America.  He discussed outcomes from America Walks’ CDC-funded State Collaborative Workshops on Walkability series and described a model main street revitalization project in Batesville, AR.  Learn more here.
