Kathy Smith is the Program Officer at Partners for Health Foundation, a community health foundation and organizational partner of Shaping NJ, New Jersey’s obesity prevention initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). She has been instrumental in developing Eat, Play, Live…Better,” a multi-sector community partnership focused on making the healthy choice the easy choice, and is a member of the SAFE (“Streets are for Everyone”) Committee of the local Traffic and Parking Advisory Group.
Kathy sees walking as a way to help alleviate chronic health problems, reduce our carbon footprint, improve the viability of our local businesses and create communities where residents feel engaged and connected. She’s an avid walker and bicyclist in her Montclair, NJ community. She holds a B.S. in Economics from Rutgers University and a M.A. in Community Health Education from Montclair State University.
