Ruth Rosas (they/she) joins America Walks as a Program Manager, bringing over 10 years of active transportation advocacy work. Prior to joining the team, Ruth worked for Lurie Children’s Hospital, where they led walkability and transportation equity initiatives across Chicago. Ruth was also a Peace Corps Community and Youth Development Specialist in Fiji where they co-founded a youth bike co-op and worked on environmental education and waste management issues in urban and rural communities. With the goal of creating healthy, sustainable, walkable communities free from systemic barriers, Ruth’s commitment is towards social change through collaboration and creativity.
Ruth loves the outdoors and in their free time, Ruth can be found rock climbing, mountaineering, biking or hiking.
