WEBINAR: Safer Vehicles – What Will It Take For Government Action?

A child waiting to cross the street. There is a car in the background. The foreground has text that says Safer Vehicles. What Will It Take For Government Action?

What are Safer Vehicles?

Over the past 15 years, the number of pedestrians killed by car crashes has risen by 80 percent. Dangerous vehicles are one of the leading factors of this growing crisis. Vehicles on the road keep getting larger and larger and the government response to calls for safer vehicles has been piecemeal and sporadic. Join America Walks and our panelists Amy Cohen (Families for Safe Streets), Kea Wilson (Streetsblog USA), and Jodie Medeiros (Walk SF) for a conversation on how to get government at all levels to take action for safer vehicles.

Webinar learning objectives:

  • Understand the impact of vehicle design on pedestrian safety
  • Analyze current governmental policies and gaps in response
  • Develop advocacy strategies for policy change
