Sam Foster

Board of Directors

Sam Foster is the co-founder of A Better Cobb, a nonprofit focused on public transit, affordable housing, and street safety in Cobb County, Georgia. In this role, he is responsible for raising public awareness of pedestrian and cyclist safety issues, hosting crash analysis workshops, and advocating for infrastructure investment before the Cobb County Commission and Marietta City Council.

What began as personal frustration over unsafe streets and unaffordable housing grew into years of organizing and civic leadership. Every Saturday he hosts Marietta Bike Social, a family-friendly bicycle ride that builds community while making the case for walkable, bikeable streets. In 2026, he founded the Marietta Bike School, which repairs and gives away bicycles and offers community repairs to anyone in need. In 2025, he ran for Mayor of Marietta, earning 49.7% of the vote against a four-term incumbent on a platform of walkable neighborhoods, zoning reform, and housing affordability. Sam is located in Marietta, Georgia.
