Vanny Mwamba is the co-founder of Urban Hikers, a Cincinnati-based civic walking and storytelling organization focused on community connection, public health, and urban exploration. Through guided walks, films, and public programming, he has helped engage thousands of residents in reimagining their relationship with cities and public space.
Vanny is also a filmmaker, communications strategist, and global pedestrian advocate whose work explores walking as a tool for cultural understanding, mental wellness, and civic participation. His award-winning documentary, Why We Walk, has been featured at international film festivals and is streaming on Prime Video and Apple TV. He has collaborated with organizations and events including Nike, BLINK Cincinnati, Black Tech Week, to create walking-based community and cultural experiences.
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Vanny brings a grassroots, cultural, and systems-oriented perspective to the future of walkable communities.
